About Shelley Hinton
I became a licensed Loan Officer in 2011, however, due to the market downturn during The Great Recession, I changed careers and became a Foreclosure Prevention Counselor for NeighborImpact, a local non-profit HUD housing agency. During this time, I helped many homeowners in Central Oregon retain their homes either through default mediation counseling or loan modification programs with their mortgage company. In 2014, I became a HUD Certified Reverse Mortgage Counselor serving Central and Eastern Oregon (as the only HUD approved counselor east of the Cascade Mountains). It was during this time as a Counselor that I found my true passion for Reverse Mortgages!
In 2015, I returned to the mortgage industry as a Reverse Mortgage Specialist and Loan Officer Assistant. For the past eight years, I have been fortunate to not only continue working with and educating local homeowners about reverse mortgages, but I also work daily with Loan Officers on our staff to prepare, process, and complete traditional mortgages, including purchases and refinances.
